Patient Safety Advocate Carole Hemmelgarn Visits JHF
Carole Hemmelgarn, MS, MS met with Jewish Healthcare Foundation (JHF) staff during her visit to Pittsburgh on May 4 to discuss ongoing efforts to advance patient safety priorities. Hemmelgarn is a Senior Director of Education at the MedStar Health Institute for Quality and Safety, the Program Director for the Executive Master's in Clinical Quality, Safety & Leadership at Georgetown University, and a founding member of the advocacy group Patients for Patient Safety US. She has been a dedicated partner with JHF in national efforts and convenings to improve safety in the healthcare system, including collaborating on the work to create a National Patient Safety Board.
