Communications Specialist
Katie Weidenboerner is a communications specialist for the Jewish Healthcare Foundation (JHF) and its supporting organizations — the Pittsburgh Regional Health Initiative (PRHI), Health Careers Futures (HCF), and Women's Health Activist Movement Global (WHAMglobal). In her role, Weidenboerner translates project data and real-world outcomes of JHF’s initiatives into stories of impact and calls to action across the organization’s communication platforms. She most recently was the director of communications at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. Prior to moving to Pittsburgh, she spent a decade in the newspaper industry serving in the roles of writer, columnist, photographer, social media manager, and assistant editor at the Courier Express in DuBois, PA. She has also worked as a freelance contributor for the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and the Pennsylvania Wilds Center for Entrepreneurship. Weidenboerner currently serves as the Majority Inspector of Elections in Ward 19 District 4 in Mount Washington. She is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and of University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs with a master's in public policy and management.
