Since 2018, the Jewish Healthcare Foundation has been the state administrator for the Dementia Friends Pennsylvania initiative. Dementia Friends seeks to educate communities across the commonwealth about dementia, challenge the stigma surrounding dementia, and encourage individuals to implement practical changes to best support people living with dementia. Through a train-the-trainer model, Dementia Friends Champion Volunteers are equipped to offer live in-person and virtual Dementia Friends sessions to community members. Dementia Friends Pennsylvania is part of Dementia Friends USA, a global movement that is changing the way people think, act, and talk about dementia.
