Aging Made Simple
What if Pittsburgh seniors had access to a community-based “one-stop” ecosystem that makes aging simpler—by integrating health care, social engagement, technology, and supportive services tailored to the needs of older adults? The Jewish Healthcare Foundation is aiming to make this vision a reality.

- 1 in 6people globally will be age 65+ by 2050
- >30%of Pennsylvania's population will be over age 65 by 2030
- 80%of older adults in PA will live with 2+ chronic conditions
Helping Older Adults Stay Healthy, Independent, and Connected
Globally, populations are aging, and fertility rates are dropping precipitously. The costs of caring for seniors will overwhelm resources, and communities that do not adapt will not thrive.
While other countries are beginning to recognize these trends and adapt, the U.S. las lagged. Countries like Singapore, Japan, Norway, Finland, and Italy are implementing models and engaging with forward thinkers who are experimenting thoughtfully with ways to adjust to this new reality.
Drawing inspiration from these international models, the Pittsburgh Longevity Hub would serve as a local touchpoint where preventive care, age-appropriate exercise, chronic disease management, navigation services, housing supports, and social programs are coordinated in one place. This model will focus on not just living longer but having more years of healthy aging.
Built through public-private partnerships and aligned with the goals of Pennsylvania’s Aging Our Way 10-year plan, the Longevity Hub aims to extend the healthspan, prevent unnecessary care, and help older adults remain healthy, independent, and connected in their communities.
By combining clinical care, community resources, engagement opportunities, and emerging technologies in a single coordinated system, the Pittsburgh Longevity Hub will transform aging into a source of community vitality and serve as a scalable model for other regions.
