Feinstein Fellowship Alumni Spotlight: Fahmida Hossain

Type: Video

Focus Area: Workforce Development

Fahmida Hossain is a certified healthcare ethics consultant with a PhD from Duquesne University Center for Healthcare Ethics. She is currently a fellow of medical ethics at Weill Cornell Medicine. She has participated in all three of the Feinstein Fellowships offered by the Jewish Healthcare Foundation—the Patient Safety Fellowship, Salk Health Activist Fellowship, and Death and Dying Fellowship.

Rooting her research in narrative and storytelling, her vision is to positively transform contemporary medicine via Narrative Authority—a perspective and a method that is thoroughly other-oriented, dialogue-based, culturally sensitive, nonjudgmental, and always story-dependent. Along with her work to profoundly influence bioethics and health care, she is also passionate about advocating for the mental well-being excellence in health care.
