Makenzie Postma is a healthcare professional from Raleigh, NC, with a diverse background in clinical documentation, healthcare operations, and leadership. An alumna of the 2023 Salk Health Activist Fellowship and the 2024 Patient Safety Fellowship, she currently serves as a Supervisor, Clinical Documentation Specialist at Oak Street Health and an Administrative Resident at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital, where she leads teams, optimizes workflows, and supports initiatives such as developing gestational diabetes dashboards and enhancing maternal health programs.

Her experience spans leadership roles in clinical informatics, where she has trained and onboarded teams to improve documentation and care delivery, as well as direct patient care as a CNA and Medication Aide. She has also worked on cross-functional teams to address challenges like reducing agency reliance, implementing innovative procedures, and streamlining population health workflows to improve outcomes, a career reflecting a commitment to innovation, collaboration, and improving healthcare systems for both patients and providers.

She holds dual degrees in biology and Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is pursuing a Master of Health Administration at the University of Pittsburgh.
