Applications Open for the 2026 Justin Reid Ehrenwerth Community Impact Award
Type: News
JHF is now accepting applications for the Justin Reid Ehrenwerth Community Impact Award, a grant opportunity supporting nonprofit organizations working to advance justice, environmental resilience, strong democratic institutions, and combat antisemitism.
Established in 2023, the Justin Reid Ehrenwerth Community Impact Award honors the legacy of the late environmental leader, public servant, and social justice advocate whose work advanced environmental protection, civil rights, and democratic values. The Community Impact Award invests in nonprofit organizations continuing that mission. The award also reflects the geographic reach of Ehrenwerth’s life and work, supporting organizations in Pittsburgh, Louisiana, and Washington, D.C. A national selection committee, including members of the Ehrenwerth family and leaders connected to Justin’s work, helps guide the selection process.
Since it was established in 2023, the award has been given to the Anti-Defamation League’s Cleveland Chapter, University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health, and The Water Institute.
Applications for the current grant cycle are now open.
