The creation of this new role marks an important evolution in JHF’s leadership structure and a deepened commitment to strong, strategic operations in a time of rapid change and growing need in our communities.

Dr. Rosen is a familiar and respected leader within the JHF community. For over a decade, he has contributed to the Foundation’s mission as a member of the Board of Trustees, the Distribution Committee, and as Chair of the Adolescent Behavioral Health Special Advisory Committee. Over the past year, he served as a senior consultant to the Foundation, where he led strategic planning across key program areas and advanced new initiatives to improve community health and healthcare delivery.

With this new appointment, Dr. Rosen will work closely with Dr. Feinstein and the senior leadership team to strengthen alignment across the Foundation’s focus areas and operational priorities. He brings decades of experience in social work, public health, and systems-level innovation that will enhance JHF’s ability to respond to today’s most urgent health and social challenges.

Dr. Rosen is a Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work, where he directs the Integrated Healthcare Certificate program and co-leads the joint Master of Social Work / Master of Business Administration program. Throughout the upcoming academic year, he will continue select responsibilities at the university to ensure continuity in his research and teaching, particularly in areas tied to healthcare innovation and workforce development.

A nationally recognized expert in behavioral health, aging, and community-based care, Dr. Rosen has earned widespread recognition for his integrative approach to addressing complex health disparities. His research has been supported by the National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and numerous philanthropic partners. He is also the founder of Wellbridge Health, a pioneering chronic disease management enterprise that combines digital health tools with personalized coaching to support vulnerable populations.

“Danny’s appointment as Executive Vice President strengthens our capacity to act with purpose and deliver effective programming at a time of great challenge—and great opportunity—for the communities we serve,” Dr. Feinstein said. “We are thrilled to welcome him into this role and grateful for his continued dedication to our mission.”
