JHF Welcomes Two New Trustees and Three New Board Members

The Jewish Healthcare Foundation recently welcomed two new Trustees. Each will serve a three-year term.

Stuart Fisk, CRNP, MS is a 30-year healthcare provider, currently working as a consultant for the Allegheny County Department of Human Services. He was previously the founding director of strategy for the Center for Inclusion Health at Allegheny Health Network (AHN). He helped to develop and legalize Prevention Point Pittsburgh and has worked as an addiction medicine provider at Prevention Point sites and in the Allegheny County Jail. Stuart started his career as a nurse on the streets of San Francisco, providing care to persons with HIV, and he went on to administer nursing and medical care to many marginalized patients in Pittsburgh. His experience includes working as a hospice nurse, a clinical liaison, and an addiction medicine provider. He holds a BA in anthropology and sociology from West Virginia University and an M.S. in nursing from San Francisco State University. Stuart has long been active as a partner with JHF and is a frequent speaker at our many Feinstein Fellowship programs.

Paul M. Wallach, MD is the new Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences Education, Executive Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, School of Medicine and a Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. He is a nationally recognized leader in academic medicine and his work with the provost’s office focuses on enhancing academic activities and spearheading new opportunities in medical and graduate education, joint degrees and mentorship programs. Prior to moving to Pittsburgh, he most recently served as executive associate dean at Indiana University School of Medicine, where he led efforts to enhance the curriculum and student support. He earned his medical degree at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, where he completed his Internal Medicine Residency, and served as Chief Resident. He completed his General Internal Medicine Faculty Fellowship at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

The Foundation also welcomed Sydney Etheredge, MPH and Demetrios Marousis, MA, MBA to the Health Careers Futures Board and David Goldberger, MA to the Pittsburgh Regional Health Initiative Board.

Sydney Etheredge is director of operations and strategic initiatives for the Reproductive Freedom Alliance and previously served as President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania (PPWP). Prior to her role at PPWP, she spent a decade at the Planned Parenthood Federation of America. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Sociology from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Health Policy from the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services.


Demetrios Marousis is director of behavioral health at Highmark Health, where he leads behaviora health strategy and integration efforts to improve mental health and substance use disorder care. With a BA in biology from Washington & Jefferson College and an MA in professional psychology from Geneva College and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh, he has over two decades of experience providing behavioral health counseling and has also held leadership roles in managed care focused on benefits management, care coordination, and clinical oversight.

David Goldberger is a health specialist leader at Deloitte Consulting’s Government & Public Services practice, where he supports the Department of Veterans Affairs and other clients in their effort to build safer, more reliable care systems. Prior to his role at Deloitte, he spent more than a decade leading research at The Advisory Board Company, a best practices research data analytics and consulting firm serving a consortium of more than 2,500 commercial hospitals and health systems. He holds a BA in History from the University of Michigan and a MA in History from Stanford University.
